

29th Rim Rock Marathon and Half Marathon

The Rim Rock Marathon and Half Marathon course follows the famous Rim Rock Drive through the Colorado National Monument, giving runners beautiful views of the Grand Valley. The views along the race course are unmatched and perfect for runners looking for something MONUMENTAL.

Registration includes event apparel, a finisher's medal, access to the Colorado National Monument, post-race food, chip timing, and more!

GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN INFORMATION:
Per the National Parks Service, our permit is still valid as it was approved prior to the shutdown. Our team has substitute staffing, if the park staff is unavailable, so unless a new policy is implemented, which is highly unlikely, we expect our race to go on as planned.

frequently asked questions
Can I park at the Start line?
No, there is absolutely no parking at either start line.

Can someone drop me off near the start line?
For the Full Marathon, you may be dropped off at the start, but absolutely no parking. For the Half Marathon, you are not allowed to be dropped off as the road will be closed. Westbound traffic closes starting at 7:ooam.

What happens if I miss the bus?
It is your responsibility to be ready to leave from the Fruita Community Center at the appropriate time for your race. As mentioned, no drop-offs allowed at the Half start line.

Are spectators allowed?
No spectating is allowed on the Colorado National Monument. We recommend spectating in James M. Robb State Park and at the Fruita Community Center.

Where should I drop my gear, and how do I get it back after the race?
Runners may drop gear at their appropriate Start Lines. Full Marathon runners may drop gear at the Red Canyon Overlook Aid Station #2 and the Monument Canyon View Aid Station #5. Half-marathon runners can drop gear at the Monument Canyon View Aid Station #5. Runners should expect to get gear bags back by 1:00 PM (could be earlier, but not guaranteed). You may also coordinate with the GJSC to pick up gear at a later time. ​

How will the course be marked?
Mile Markers will be placed every 2 miles on the side of the road throughout the course. ​

What will be available post-race?
Please stick around for the post-race party held at the Fruita Community Center. Each runner will receive 1 meal ticket for a post-race Jimmy John's 1/2 sandwich and snacks, as well as a beer ticket for runners 21+

Can I volunteer for this event?

Will the Fruita Community Center be open for use after the race?
Yes, the Fruita Community Center will be open for facility use after the race, including bathrooms and locker rooms with showers, all day Sunday.
